manglar films

Manglar, the Spanish translation of mangrove, is a salt-tolerant tree that survives in harsh coastal conditions with roots that extend above ground. Manglar Films tells stories about resilient characters who are transitioning; shedding light on exposed roots and extending them into new ground.

Team

Bryant Buernet is a writer and director from The Bronx. He has independently directed and produced numerous short films Including I Like Them Separate and Urge. With a focus on community building, Bryant served as an adjunct professor at CUNY, teaching Film Production to students in the Bronx.

Yessica Curiel Montoya is an experienced cinematographer, with an extensive background as a gaffer, working in fiction, documentary, and commercial projects. Her work has screened in festivals around the world and received the prestigious Kodak Eastman Award for Cinematography.

Wilson Paulino is a creative producer and coordinator with over a decade of experience in film and media production. He has worked with major studios including Universal, Paramount, MGM, Netflix, and Pantaya.
