manglar films

Manglar, the Spanish translation of mangrove, is a salt-tolerant tree that survives in harsh coastal conditions with roots that extend above ground. Manglar Films tells stories about resilient characters who are transitioning; shedding light on exposed roots and extending them into new ground.

Team

Bryant Buernet is a writer and director from The Bronx. Bryant started working as an actor studying at The Lee Strasberg Film and Theater Institute and transitioned into film, earning his BFA in Film. He has independently directed and produced numerous short films Including I Like Them Separate and Urge.

Yessica Curiel Montoya is an experienced cinematographer, with an extensive background as a gaffer, working in fiction, documentary, and commercial projects. Her work has screened in festivals around the world and received the prestigious Kodak Eastman Award for Cinematography . She’s a Mexican immigrant and a resident of The Bronx.
